Brazilian Cuisine ¦ The sweets and desserts you must try in Brazil

Covers Brazilian Desserts

The traditional foods of a country can say a lot about their culture, and it’s not different in Brazil. Each region of this big country has different dishes, but it’s not difficult to find everything almost everywhere.

The Brazilian desserts may be too sweet for some foreigners, but there are a lot options for every taste. Trust us, they are delicious!

BRIGADEIRO

The Brazilian chocolate truffle is probably the most famous dessert of the country. It is amazing how a mix of condensed milk, chocolate powder and butter can bring happiness and joy in a few minutes!

BEIJINHO, CAJUZINHO AND BICHO DE PÉ

The versions of brigadeiro with coconut, peanut and strawberry, in this order.

COCADA

Coconut candy cocada different tastes with coconut

Made with coconut and baked, this chewy dessert has many versions, but the two most populars are the traditional white coconut and the black cocada, made with brown sugar and slightly burnt coconut. Both delicious!

BOLO DE ROLO

bolo de rolo 1

A classic from the northeast, this soft rolled cake is stuffed with guava paste and is so delicate you won’t realize until the cake is over.

QUINDIM

                               quindim   quindao

I must confess, this one is my favorite! Eggs, sugar and coconut: This amazing combination of flavour and texture is also found in its bigger version, our beloved “quindão”!

PÉ DE MOLEQUE

pe de moleque

This chewy caramel bar with peanuts is one of the most popular candies and you can find it even on the streets.

PUDDING OF CONDENSED MILK

pudim

I never meet a Brazilian who doesn’t love this pudding. So, my tip is to order one after a traditional lunch on a Churrascaria. You won’t regret!

PAÇOCA

pacoca-620x330

Another typical candy that has its homemade version as well as some popular brands such as Paçoquita, a brand that recently launched the paçoca paste version (a peanut butter but with extra sugar) and light one!

There are plenty of others desserts and different fruits, but these are our favorites and we definitely recommend to put in your Brazilian’s experiences list!

Eat dessert first!
